I would have liked to see acer helios 300 15.6 with i7 7700hq 256gb ssd 16gb ram gtx 1060 full hd screen selling for 1050$ or 1040$ on amazon for example.

Hi Jack. I'm not the original author, but my colleague is part of the German team and the European pricing can vary quite heavily from US pricing. The i7 model that we reviewed is still priced outside of the range used for this article, and while the i5 model is within the price range, I don't remember us doing a review on that one.

Well it's mainly because that MSI Gaming Laptops are usually priced at over $1600 and have decent overpriced specs rather than great ones for their price.

Reviews should focus mainly on used cpu + gpu + their real performance with implemented cooling solution (hello Dell G3) + display quality in gaming POV and simple word (e.g. IPS 5ms, TN 1ms not ur obscure images and graphics). SSD and RAM version are optional and upgradable.
Unbearable slow response display takes first place. In era when most popular games are multiplayer and competitive. What a joke.

OMG!! On what Planet is "1500.00" budget?
Forgetting for the moment that for a bit more you can get a 'high end' gaming laptop, IMHO "budget" ought to be less than HALF (IE:750.00 or less!!).
Granted in April 2024 a ~750 price tag might only get you 1-3 generations older CPU/GPU's from the discount bin's however "budget" ought to be at least LESS THAN 1000!!! (if not <750!!)
