Title: The Pirate Bay is caught stealing from users who are busy stealing content
Post by: Redaktion on September 17, 2017, 00:29:04
The Pirate Bay users complaining of CPU usage spiking up to 100 percent while just viewing certain web pages found that there was a javascript based cryptominer embedded in the website code. The Pirate Bay says that it is running a 24-hour trial to assess the suitability of embedded mining scripts as replacements for advertising revenue.

Using [u/ad]block globally in restrictive mode (3rd party + cookies) and gracefully enabling is definitely the neccessity today.
But the memento of this issue is: better is to block globally rather than block WHEN problem appears (change to more aggresive ad system, cryptojavascriptmalware injection)
