Title: MediaTek intros Helio P23 and P30 mid-range processors
Post by: Redaktion on August 29, 2017, 09:57:47
The two new chips keep the typical mid-range Cortex-A53 core blocks used by their predecessors, but provide new GPUs and modems. Both are scheduled to roll out in the last quarter of this year.

Nice stuff MTK, except for the part that "new" CPUs make no sense at all. P25 had 4 A53 clocked at 2.5 and newer cpu has 2.5 on the same process node.
Plus, announcing A53 chips long after A55 has been released and A55 is way >>> A53, makes new update look like "oh hi we re bringing old unchanged crap to you again"
MTK in CPU business right now look alot like Sony - have no idea what the market wants from them. And keep popping lowest end CPUs, massive amount of useless cpu cores, weakest gpus (even huawei can go for normal gpus now). I fear MTK wants to destroy itself. Which will be bad, because on mid-level there is nobody else to compete with Qualcomm.
