Title: Asus ROG GL753VE (7700HQ, 1050 Ti) Laptop Review
Post by: Redaktion on May 30, 2017, 06:03:45
Sweet spot. Asus typically tweaks the different iterations of their gaming notebooks by using different GPU solutions. Has the Taiwanese manufacturer hit a sweet spot with the  GL753VE and its GTX 1050 Ti?

I own one of these laptops and I can tell you that the backlight bleed on mine is nothing like as severe as the unit in this article. In fact I doubt it's even a third of this one; still annoying to be sure, but nothing like as bad. Possibly defective workmanship?

I can also verify that the cooling solution is excellent and that Doom on max settings is great. However there is no G-Sync and at times the screen tearing really sucks.

@T:

Both budget options, but screen sizes are different. This is 17.3", whereas the Inspiron is 15.6". I would recommend the Dell Inspiron 7567 over this and probably everything else, mainly because of the best build quality and longest battery life (at least in the budget gaming category).
The only configuration you should consider is one with the GTX 1050-Ti graphics and FHD (Full-HD,1920x1080p) IPS display. If a 17" screen size is a must have, there're much better options than this very overpriced Asus laptop. You may even want to consider a budget 1060 like Acer Helios 300 if cost, weight, and battery life aren't any issues.

Bought mine from Costco for $800.  So glad I did. It was a display model, but they used a password protected lock-screen so there was very little to no tampering with it.  Practically brand new came with the box and everything.  The joys of living in a small town... ;D
