Title: Switch console breaks Nintendo's sales records on release
Post by: Redaktion on March 07, 2017, 08:10:38
Nintendo's new console and copies of the new Zelda title are selling like hotcakes in the days shortly after the Switch's debut. While the tablet is well-equipped, there's still some uncertainty regarding Nintendo's notoriously lacking online service.

I'm more interested to see if sales numbers for the Switch are so high because Nintendo couldn't keep the Wii in stock. Launch sales for the Wii may have been "low" because Nintendo didn't produce enough at launch. They have a problem with stocking hardware, although they might intentionally stock fewer devices to raise demand.

I think the Switch is a great console, but it's 1-year and long term sales numbers will be a better indicator of its impact on the market.
