I think this is a great phone. I've had it about two months and I'm really happy with it. The Asus interface is good and bloatware is minimal. The trick with the brightness is to set it to minimum but also make sure "auto" is selected: that way it's easy to see the screen even in the brightest sunlight but you also don't get blinded by it indoors.
