Title: HP introduces new ZBook mobile workstations
Post by: Redaktion on November 12, 2015, 18:35:54
For the 3rd generation, HP gives its ZBook mobile workstations a completely new look and incorporates up-to-date components. Intel Xeon processors, up to 64 GB ECC RAM, the latest Nvidia Quadro graphics solutions, and DreamColor displays encourage power-users to make an upgrade.

Where is the USB 3.1?  Also why did they get rid of Dreamcolor for a while, are these new screens better than the old Dreamcolor screens?  What is the LUT?, colorspace %. Will these finally be new model laptops with screens that are tolerable for professional graphics work?

I've read that Thunderbolt 3 ports use USB C connectors and support -- or are at least capable of supporting -- 40 Gbps Thunderbolt, 10 Gbps USB 3.1, and DisplayPort 1.2. So in theory, USB3.1 devices should work on the Zbook G3 series' Thunderbolt 3 ports.

As for the DreamColor panels, I vaguely remember reading that on the Zbooks there were some complaints about buzzing noises.
