Title: First Impressions: Asus Zenbook NX500JK in Review
Post by: Redaktion on November 25, 2014, 05:48:00
Alluring. Asus aims at tech enthusiasts with its new 15 inch Zenbook generation. The flat aluminium unibody houses a standard-voltage i7 processor paired with an upper middle-class Nvidia graphics card. The highlight of this model seems to be the 4K panel. It offers high resolutions, great colors, high contrast and wide viewing angles. Is this the winner?

This is a much better panel than retina. It's exactly double HD so less scaling problems. Color accuracy is superior. You are wrong in your retina assessment, it does not cover sRGB at all.

Mac cannot possibly come close to covering sRGB color space if it covers only 60% of adobe RGB, sRGB is 72% of NTSC which is slightly larger than adobe RGB therefore mac retina display cannot cover more than 80% of sRGB no matter how you flip this. YOu need to change your testing methods, they are completely off.

It's funny that battery runtime and gaming performance in native resolution are the two things that this notebook is obviously bad at and not mentioned in the review!
