Title: Review HP Spectre 13-3010eg Ultrabook
Post by: Redaktion on February 05, 2014, 05:48:13
Quite the spectre! HP calls its premium ultrabooks "Spectre" - and equips its most recent flagship device with a high-resolution QHD IPS display. But is the difference between QHD and Full HD truly that noticeable? And what about its build quality, its design, its performance and its connectivity? In short: Is the premium ultrabook worth its premium price?

Is this the same model as the US version HP Spectre 13t-3000 but fully maxed out on upgrades to the core i7 processor, 256 GB SSD and 8GB ram?

Yes,  it is.   But nbc's poor research of global prices and configurations of the German market models it reviews remains one of your very few shortcomings.  Not only is the review unit sold as a CTO model in the US,  but HP here has been aggressively discounting the model by an average 20% which has enabled most Americans to purchase the review unit configuration for little more than $US 1,000,  or $400-$800 less than the premium Ultrabook competition from Acer,  Asus, Lenovo and Toshiba.

Please Note: there is a large error in either my memory,  Nbc's archives and/or its judgment.   To wit:I am virtually certain that when this review was first published its composite rating score for the Spectre 13T-3XXX was 87, a score I considered a bit stingy  on my read of your review and many others'.  But now the composite score in the box on the top right section of the review reads "81!  Do I remember incorrectly and do you consider this rather magnificent product (which I now own) only slightly above average among all ultra portable notebooks in today's market,  or has some intrepid hacker gotten into your Web publishing database and changed the "7" in "87" to a "1"?

When compared to other ultrabooks - before or since this review - the rating does not make sense compared to other identical or inferior models.  Your ratings seem increasingly arbitrary.

I want to share that I own this laptop since 9 years now and it is still running quite well !! The battery is the original and I can still work 2h30 on a single charge. The speed is decent , the screen is nice and the keyboard is as good as new, not even a mark on the most used keys... I am impressed, great work HP!! What equivalent PC could I buy today so it lasts for 10 years !?
