Title: Review Toshiba Satellite NB10t-A-101 Netbook
Post by: Redaktion on January 05, 2014, 07:28:25
Energy-efficient stealth device. Toshiba's Satellite NB10t-A-101 is an 11.6-inch netbook which comes equipped with a Bay Trail Celeron CPU, a touchscreen, a 500 GB HDD and Windows 8, costing approx. 380 euros. Our review will show whether Toshiba's small notebook is a true bargain.

BEWARE - one can NOT use a Boot disk to access OS.  Acronis and Ghost nor free clone or Imaging boot disk will NOT work on this netbook. BIOS is lacking many features found on many notebooks.  I would not recommend this product.   >:(

some people have installed Linux successfully..

A few hints:
1 - USB stick needs to be in the right-hand (USB2) port.
2 - USB stick needs to UEFI bootable (a Debian or Ubuntu installer, copied to the USB stick with "dd", is fine).
3 - Bootloader file must be named boot/bootx64.efi (again, a Debian or Ubuntu installer image will already be OK).
4 - Try holding down ESC before/during hitting the power button, to select the boot device.

here is a howto:  http://unofficialnb10.wordpress.com/

* Bad performance comparing to Celeron 1.8 from 2005 - integrated GPU use some power  5/10
* HDD is slowly so i replace to SSD
* Can;t install Windows 7 - 32 or 64 bit due non standard BIOS
* When copy to SD card hear some  squeaks in "headphones"
* Sound is very bad 3/10
* Keyboard,  who design it, keys are in different position so you will be had problem to use normal keyboards
* CD Key - windows 8 are saved in UEFI BIOS

Hello

My lovely Toshiba Satellite NB10t-A-10F that I have efficiently used for nearly 9 years without a single issue recently got a damage.
I am looking for anyone wishing to sell his/her old one as parts only.

Please let me know if you have body parts at [email protected]

Thanks

Ladu
