The ram appears to be soldered on. So your only option is to upgrade from the factory.
I had the 1920x1080 version (same but with Full HD screen) and it was awful. It's way too dark + very (VERY!) reflective which makes it unusable even inside the house. Do not get this laptop unless you are planning to connect it to an external display device.
I've had this laptop for 9 months now. It's almost everything that I wanted from a midrange laptop: it's sleek, it's touchscreen, backlit keyboard, it's long battery life, and it's responsive. I can easily switch from my office programs, to video editing, to online gaming.
However, it's not without flaws: I find myself constantly adjusting the screen angle because the colors easily invert when not viewed directly. There was also a time that my battery won't charge, Dell was quick to send a technician and almost replaced half of the internals before the problem was fixed.
For me, the pros outweighed the cons. I learned to love my Inspiron 7437, flaws and all.

I have a dell 7437 for 3 months , it have a problem.
the display blink while working , and sometimes the half display be black for 1or 2 second and then back to normal.
we have uninstalled the graphic driver , the problem doesn't be seen, and i downloaded the new driver from dell website and installed it again , but when install the graphic driver it have the same problem.
It seems the graphic have problem.
This is beautiful model of dell but it have problems.it heats up and it does not shutt down properly.sometimes it hanged up.i am much warried and want any solution.i purchased it just 3 months ago :-X :-X
