I have measured delta-e on my calibrated XPS 15 display as low as 0.88, and consistently below 1.0. Others have had similar results. It is the most color-accurate laptop display I've ever worked on. You may want to recalibrate and try your test again. This display is more accurate than the 2013 MBP.
The biggest disadvantage to going with the Dell over Mac for graphic design work, at least for now, is the poor support of Adobe CC for hidpi displays in Windows. Menus and icons in Photoshop are tiny when the display is run at full-res. Frustrating, because other Adobe apps like Lightroom scale fine and look great. Hopefully Adobe will remedy this situation soon.
You seemed to have omitted the fact that with the MBP 15 you can't upgrade memory after it's built and SSD drive is proprietary and the battery is soldered to the chassis.
I have this laptop and the hi-dpi issues affect all sorts of things - web pages look too small; scaling up to compensate makes some things fuzzy; some apps (e.g. Chrome) don't scale fonts correctly even for the default size; some programs present unresizeable windows too small for the text inside them; some - including Photoshop, apparently - ignore scaling altogether and are virtually unusable as a result. (I was going to get Photoshop but decided not to based on the current issues being reported). So my high-end laptop purchase has so far resulted in disappointment and frustration.
You guys know if this lap accepts 32 gb of ram? Does it comes with a flash drive in case i want to update the hard drive?

I did read it after ordering this laptop and was still excited about it. but the touchpad thing was very frustrating and typing was not as delightful as it is on my Dell XPS 16 2009. Hence I returned the laptop as me being a software consultant needed a laptop with very fast track pad and great keyboard. This laptop was an utter disappointment in terms of track pad. blame it on windows or on dell, but both of them screwed it up.

i am thinking to buy it, but can anyone comment about text scaling issues? i have a macbook pro 15 retina with os x and win7 (dual boot) and in win7 text is not looking good, regardless the resolution/text scaling settings...
so final question is if i set xps 15 (with windows 8.1x) in 1600x900 (half res) or 1920x 1080 will it look great? (both images & text) and avoid text scaling issues ?

Has someone checked the 1080p display unit? There is a lower configuration with a 1080p display instead of the HiDPI display.

The right usb port is unable to support full power, this means a lot of usb devices do not work.
a junk. do not be fooled by its specs. the quality is horrible. I have an xps 15 953, the 2 usb ports and wireless adapter died with 3 months.
