Title: Review MSI GP60-i740M245FD Notebook
Post by: Redaktion on December 02, 2013, 15:12:27
Thwarted gamer. An affordable notebook (699 euros) for computer gamers is what MSI offers with the GP60-i740M245FD. A Core i7 processor and a GeForce GPU, topped off with a matte FullHD display, create a lot of power under the bonnet. Our test review reveals if the computer is convincing in the field.

How much more would it have cost them to use the 128bit bus version of the 740M; it would have made more sense for them to have done that rather than limit gaming with a 64bit bus.  I think this looks pretty poor for gaming, due to that 64 bit bus.  Benchmarks like 3DMark11 don't stress the memory bus much, so benchmarks scores are not as badly affected as performance in games.

Just don't!

Had mine for two months when the hard drive died.  Really?  Two months?

The unit is a cheap as it's flimsy plastic case.

Garbage and a waste of a grand.
