Title: Review HP ZBook 17 (E9X11AA-ABA) Workstation
Post by: Redaktion on November 27, 2013, 22:36:54
DreamBook? HP has changed the name of its mobile workstations to ZBook, shipping it not only with a different moniker, but also with a whole new chassis and updated components. Our detailed review will show whether this is enough to climb back to the top of our workstation ranking.

HP has terrible customer support, I own an Envy 15, and there are horror stories to be told, not only with the product, but with the support.

Envy 15 is consumer device
By the way, why integrated Intel graphics is disadvantage?

Are the LuxMark 2.0 numbers swapped or mistyped?  I expect the large 'Room' scene to be slower than the medium 'Sala' scene, as it is on all the other systems.

(Unizzy: as I understand, HP business support and consumer support are separate. HP Envy is a consumer line.  Business machines have longer warranty and should have more professional support personnel, which is part of the reason for the higher price.)

This review is clearly biased: the test device was provided by manufacturer in an unrealistic configuration - hand-picked sample of DreamColor screen  +  entry-level graphics card with only 30W TDP.
No professional user will buy such configuration: for this kind of screen he will opt for K3100M at the very least (75W TDP) or even for K5100M (100W TDP). It would be very interesting to see what results for temperatures, noise and battery life will arise in such case.

no one mentioned power supply so monstrous and heavy that almost disqualifies this notebook from portable devices!!!
