Title: Why do I have to sit offset 10 cm to the left to type on this machine?

Why do I have to sit offset 10 cm to the left to type on this otherwise interesting machine (the 14")?

Why is it that only Apple seems to understand the importance of symmetry (in both axis) while other manufacturers seem to design their devices with one eye shut?  Actually, I cant believe that HP "designed" this laptop - it took the parts out of the bin and let them fall more or less, moving them left or right a bit to make the inthernal packaging optimised
