A rugged companion. Samsung writes another chapter in the outdoor smartphone success story with their new Galaxy Xcover 2. Even though its inner life received a major overhaul, the end product is still just a mid-class device -- but it's certainly fit for the outdoors.

The internal memory is NOT expandable via micro SD. Yes, you can put in a micro SD, but it behaves like and external memory: You can store pictures and music and documents on the micro SD. But you can not install or move applications on it. And many applications will also not use it for their data.
De Facto you have a phone on which you can only store very few apps (much much less than e.g. on the much cheaper Galaxy Ace 2 for example).
Does anybody know, when this phone will be available in the Middle East?Right now,the reprezentatives,i asked about, even didn't hear about it...
Yes, internal memory is still an issue - the Xcover was really bad and often locked up due to no spare resoreses - lets hope the 2 does better but I doubt it - they are simply too cheap and until someone bites the bullet and makes a phone with some usable memory then smartphones will remain not so smart.
PLEASE BE INFORMED official specification forget to tell you clearly that YOU HAVE LESS THAT 1 Go AVAILABLE(800Mo to be exact) when taking the phone "out-of-the-box".
Moreover, since SAMSUNG(unlike HTC,...) forbids usage of "move to SD", this phone become very quickly useless as a smartphone since you can not install apps or keep history of your activity (mails, attachements, web, apps data,...) unless you spend some time with unsupported workarounds.
This phone could have been very interesting but this cruel lack of memory is ruining it all.
disapointed.
;D Cuendo estara disponible en Colombia este excelente smartphone de calle
Not a strong phone at all.
Just after a couple of days at home, 1 drop, the glass is broken.
It is a rubish phone not a rugged phone
Internal memory problem .. thats all.. Phone is nice. I LOVE IT
Even though it has a GPS+Glonass it's completely unreliable. XCover 2 loses fix often and shows position hundreds meter from actual location. For running training it's a rubbish.
Besides that it has a lot of bloatware which consumes memory. Using it without rooting is pretty hard.
