Title: Review Acer Aspire M5-481PT-6644 Notebook
Post by: Redaktion on April 11, 2013, 07:20:31
Affordable touch. Want the full Windows 8 experience but don't want to spend a fortune? Acer's M5-481PT touchscreen Ultrabook might be just the ticket. But can it check all the major boxes, or do its compromises outweigh its benefits?

This sounds like a laptop I'd be interested in, but I can only find it for sale in the US - does anyone know when it will be launched in the UK or France?

In this article, the author mentions how bad the touch pad is. I have this model and I have to say that he is wrong. The touch pad is good, not great but good. My other unit is an HP DV7 4260, now that is a horrible touch pad, in comparison the Acer's is a breeze...In my user opinion it is a very handsome little machine with great features and for good price. The rear USB and other connections do suck, I have to admit that, otherwise, good product, unlike those horrible, all plastic laptops out there....

Hey there zsolt,

Perhaps a driver update has finally been released which corrects the problem?  Our review was from nearly 3 months ago, so it is quite possible that this is the case.  I had serious trouble with pointer accuracy and even delayed movement while using the latest driver available at the time of my review.  If that's been corrected, it's great to hear.

Thank you for your feedback! :)
