Title: Review Dell Inspiron 15R-5521 Notebook
Post by: Redaktion on February 10, 2013, 06:25:38
The golden mean. With its Inspiron 15R-5521, Dell shows a rather unusual combination of energy-saving ULV processor and dedicated middle class GPU. The efficient components do not only indicate a moderate energy demand, but also a high battery life. We have tested the top-class model with AMDs and brand-new Radeon HD 8730M.

Hallo, in the parameter overview section (right column, top) )you specified the display as glossy:NO. So as no-glossy, which it obviously is.
Feel free to remove this comment after the fix :)

Radeon HD8730 is upgrade or rename from Radeon HD7730 . it's not direct compare to HD7670 . look at the benchmark . its still at GT555 , GT 640 & HD7730 range

^^ so what is it? Glossy or not glossy? I am confused between this and the SE version. If it is worth it spending the extra money. Usage is general coding, movies and light gaming (FIFA)

hello! I've received this laptop today and I'm feeling it has earthing problem, although it is looking weak but is this problem only with me? or is it common because of metallic body? I'm even feeling earthing in lid.  :(

hi, the monitor color profile (ICC profiles) contains no parameters. I downloaded and applied to the color management of this laptop, it seems no different from the stock monitor. Do you have the proper file? thanks!

Just bought this machine and i have a 3rd generation i5-3317U processor with 6-cell battery.
I have been only surfing with WLAN and the battery drained after 2.33hrs... Your test suggests it should run for at least 7 hours.
What am i doing wrong??

I have had this laptop for a little less than a year.  I use this computer everyday for school.  A couple problems have showed up.  First of all, the casing is not very sturdy.  I began to notice within a month that small impressions were showing up on the screen.  In order to prevent further damage, I purchased a shell to go on while in the case.  Also, the silver lining above the network cable slot is weak.  A piece of this silver casing fell off.  Also, the bottom part of the fan guard on the left side breaks within a weak of using it.  Other than the casing issues, I like the laptop.

One thing I would strongly recommend NOT doing is buying this piece of garbage or anything else that Dell makes for that matter. My internet is so slow and barely functional on my Dell 15R-5521 while my wife's Lenovo works just fine, as does her iPad and each of our phones. It's also at the point now where it does not restart properly and takes multiple reboots to get it restarted. I have only had this piece of crap for two years and it is now practically useless. I'm definitely never buying a Dell product again and in fact, I'm not even going to re-sell this one or trade it in- I'm going to smash it to pieces with a hammer so I can ensure this garbage product will not end up in some innocent consumer's hands. This laptop and this company are frauds.

"DDR3-RAM PC3-12800 (1600 MHz)": not 1600 MHz >>  800(!)
