Title: Review Asus VivoTab Smart ME400C Tablet
Post by: Redaktion on February 08, 2013, 08:21:05
The compatible one. No matter whether iOS, Android or Windows RT, all operating systems have their quirks when it comes to the compatibility with the standard Windows 7 or Windows 8 versions. Asus' VivoTab Smart might eliminate these restrictions owing to Intel's Atom CPU and Windows 8. We exhaustively tested how well this works.

I actually have the Vivotab Smart, writing this upon it, and have to add to the above that EVERYTHING to be done with a non-3D graphics card on a Windows PC is to be done here. I've a short list of my favourite windows games which have been made portable (not needing the cd) that are all able to run on the Vivotab Smart. From Age of Titans to Fallout and Diablo, there are a lot of terrific games which are in no way compromises as are found within all of the mobile OS tablets. Trying a portable C&C Red Alert next.

Also I've yet to see a reviewer mention powerful apps like Wireshark, PhotoShop or awesome all-in-one suites like AVS Media's. As neither Android nor iOS has anything remotely in their league, how is such an enormous advantage in application ability so easily tossed aside? If iOS were actually able to run OSX's finest, the mentioning of such in media would be without end but since this is Windows, it is to be passed over without pause?

Games actually do work quite well. It depends on what you expect.
I mean, LOOK at it, I can't even believe there is a computer in there.
I expect classics like LBA2, Abuse, Zelda - A link to the past, Final Fantasy 1-9 to work, these calssics that will be playable until the end of time. And that is enough for me. Even Braid and World of Goo should be fine, and those games are exactly what I want to play.

This tablet is actually the best you can get.
sounds like a joke, but for me its true.
lightwheigt, lasts long, you can use any windows software, very reasonable costs

Next thing to buy: tablet with windows 8.1 and baytrail, 4GB Ram and a pen wich fits within the case of the tablet...

Great reviews and article. I have the Vivo tab, i'm a golf coach and have been using the camera to show my students their swings.  However, I have tried to link it to my downloaded software from www.gaspsystems.com and there is a some type of difficulty using the video software, they say it could be the graphics card.  Does anyone have advice to help sort this problem please?  I would be so grateful. Yes it does work.  I have been using Quicken 13 on it for the past two weeks.  Some of the buttons in Quicken are a bit small for touch use, but the program works fine.

Hi everyone,
I bought a micro USB to USB female connector to read my external hard drive of 500 GB (Western Digital). But Asus Vivo tab is not able to read external hard drive.
It is able to read small volume of Hard drive. I tested till 16 GB.
Is there some limit on the volume of Hard drive which Asus Vivo tab smart can read via micro USB to USB port.
Please suggest solution.
Thanks.
Best Regards
Sumit
