Dull? A lot of multimedia notebook for a small price - that is what the Sony Vaio SV-E1712F1EW wants to be and abstains from expensive high-end hardware and luxury materials. We clarify whether the 17-inch notebook is a true price cutter or just hides a lot of painful economies.

I have a SVE1712C5E which believe me gets very hot....only had 13/14 months
