Title: Review Dell XPS 12 Convertible
Post by: Redaktion on October 23, 2012, 09:23:26
Make 1 out of 2. Windows 8 makes it possible: the convertibles, a combination of a notebook and a tablet, are experiencing a Renaissance period. We are going to test the Dell XPS 12, which is equipped with an IPS display, and will show us if this fusion of technology can be successful.

Hi, thank you for the great review. I would like a clarification as far as the RAM modules are concerned: are these soldered on the motherboard or removable (and thus potentially upgradable, for instance up to 16 GB)? Thank you for your patience in answering.

Unfortunately, the RAM is soldered (just like it is in the similiar XPS 13 Ultrabook).

What about the SSD? Is it soldered too?

No, that is a standard mSATA device.

RAM ITS NOT 1600MHZ its a 1333mhz SO HD4000 WILL LOSE FPS ON GAMING because hd4000 takes the ram as a graphic ram.
(SONY VAIO DUO AND OTHERS HAVE a 1600mhz AND RUN IN ABOUT 10FPS MORE THAN 1333MHZ THAT THE XPS 12 HAS) KEEP THAT IN MIND .
