Title: Review Asus Transformer Pad TF300T Tablet/MID
Post by: Redaktion on July 17, 2012, 09:30:51
Well-Designed Transformer The Transformer Pads have become a tradition for Asus. The newest addition to the series is called the Transformer Pad TF300T. Asus rests the future of the series on this model and we believe that it is a good bet as it is equipped with the powerful Tegra 3 processor.

It should have said 10 mm instead of 10 cm. Thanks for the catch!

Persistent problem with the keyboard dock failing. Reports of smoke coming from dock and refusing to take a charge.
I experienced this, and problem occurred again after Asus fixed once under warranty. No longer under warranty and problem recurred. Asus insists on charging for repair of design flaw.
Many reports of keyboard dock failing to charge with smoke rising from unit.
Avoid if you need a keyboard dock. Buy a competing Android tablet.

When I first got the TF300T I was delighted. That wained  continuously to date. The design flaws continuously become apparent each day. The system has slowed to a crawl over the time of ownership, even after re-imiging several times. It was fine at first, now my wife's Nexus tablet blows by it continuously, with the wifi seeming to be much of the problem. The system hangs or crashes a often. After 2 years of moderate use, the battery no longer charges to full potential, the keyboard doesn't dock properly, and add to that the fact that ASUS techs say they will not be upgrading the Android OS to KitKat (wife's system updated almost immeadiately) makes me wish I'd looked twice. After years of buying ASUS products this is the last. Their quality has gone downhill IMHO.
