Volkswagen is getting back to its roots as the people's car company with a cheap and compact US$26,400 mass market ID.2ALL electric vehicle. With the price of a Polo but the size of a Golf, the hot hatch will be able go for 280 miles on a charge when it is released in 2025.

Sorry, but i won't buy any electric car until we get solid state batteries.

West keeps pushing out the idea where extra long mileage EVs are very sexy.  Everyone needs to know the extra high milages can only be obtained from costly Lithium batteries that are a scare resource and also very dangerous in vehicle for being fire hazards.  Meanwhile, lower milage EV batteries made with Sodium that are abundant everywhere and anywhere where there is an ocean are not seen to be sexy even though those vehicles can more than meet the daily commute needs.

It's not that that's what is in high demand or is what all consumers in the west want ... ev adoption still hasn't reached critical mass ... so there's lot of ice (internal combustion engine) hold outs who aren't going to consider an ev unless it's proven to be something they can road trip ie travel thousands of miles off the beaten path with  ...
