Title: 4 stellar Pixel 7 Pro alternatives that forego the bugs but keep the stunning cameras
Post by: Redaktion on November 10, 2022, 15:56:53
Another year, another buggy Pixel launch. Between laggy scrolling, bugs in the initial setup, and mediocre performance, many Pixel fans just aren't happy with what Google brought them this year. Fortunately, you don't have to look far to find alternatives to Google's camera king.

Ultimately most people are going to go with the Pixel phones just for the biggest fact that they're having a pure Android experience and not having tons of useless apps that they don't want. Case in point yellow pages and DirecTV that are forced on the phones. Also the Facebook app that a lot of people don't want to have on their phone but are forced to have and if they don't want it on their phone because it is a huge data and resource hog they have to disable it. They can't ever delete it so they have to just disable it. With a pixel phone being a pure Google phone, You don't get all of that unnecessary bloatware and carrier related apps as well. That's why people are choosing pixels and Google phones along with iPhones

Every phone has its flaws. And yes, some companies are doing better than others of how to mask. Whatever flaws of their phones  has by improving on what they can prove on to make that phone better. Nonetheless, I do feel pixel phones are extremely underrated and they do get criticized a lot even though it's by one of the best in my opinion in the industry of technology and yet people don't ever look at all the good things at that company does with their phone

I would strongly consider Asus and Sony phones over just about every other brand these days, they literally do everything and every other phone does some things. I would rather have something that isnt held back by anything and can do everything good, than something that can only do some things great any other things none at all... As such thought i wish Asus and Sony put their headphone jacks on the bottom, there was a time when all companies realized it was more rational to put the jacks on the bottom than the top of the phone cause its just more ergonomic.

This article is missing essential information: you need to install Google Camera (GCam) on the Asus ZenFone 9.

Doing so greatly improves photo quality and you get rid of overprocessing of skin tones by Asus own camera app.

I did a comparison with the iPhone 13 Pro and we were surprised the iPhone 13 Pro was no match for the ZenFone 9 especially indoors, restaurants, low light.

I think one of the main reasons for choosing a Pixel phone, is the pure android experience. Neither the Samsung and Oppo can deliver on that part, so the only real alternatives is the Asus & Sony phones, with the latter being much more expensive.

I love NotebookCheck's technical, in-depth reviews for tech but I've noticed a very anti-Pixel stance lately on the site with the 7 and 7 Pro. Whether it's the constant focus on the Tensor G2 not being the fastest SoC ever in articles or seemingly intentional avoidance of making a review, I'm honestly finding it a bit disreputable.

The G2 does not have 'mediocre' performance - it's a high end SoC even if it's a little lacking compared to the latest and greatest SD and Bionic SoCs... and who cares? The software is way more refined than OneUI and in some ways iOS which is probably what matters more to a user.

Judging Pixels from a purely hardware perspective is a erroneous approach as they have always been software focused and this is not something to downplay. I get you are a technical review site, but please be fair and reasonable; stop making hit pieces.

Many people believe the 7 and 7 Pro to be the best phones of the year as overall devices and there's good reason for it. Use one.

That is your opinion. I moved from an iOs and I can say that is running smoothly. But yet not all are specialists ;))

I'm a pixel lover, but I took easy way out went with refurbished s22 my son had. Not pure android but have to do till tired of Samsung, plus if I spend my money would like what everyone else has or close to it in terms of hardware, performance gains etc, etc.MAIN reason just went with Sammy. It's OK to take modern!! not up to snuff processor and tweak with software but at least give me hardware  performance that's not 2or3 generations behind current hardware come on Google.

Having been using the pixel 7 Pro since launch I've had no issues at all. Scrolls perfectly, never frozen or rebooted and easily as good an experience as my previous iPhone 13.
The bloatware is the reason I didn't go with Samsung, signing up to their store, doubled up apps. No thanks.

None of the OP's criticisms of the Pixel 7 handsets match my experience with the 7 Pro (as I know they don't for many other 7 users). For me, that clouds the credibility of the claims in the rest of the article.

What is this guy talking about? None of the criticisms about the p7pro are accurate. This phone has 2 x1s two a78s, there's nothing that can't handle. They're overclocked too. But the biggest thing, THERE ARE NO SUCH BUGS.

I dumped Sony for Asus and I have no regrets. I disagree with you. Headphone jacks should be left on top and not the bottom. I can't imagine typing on my phone and the bottom of my palm is constantly coming in contact with the wired earpiece then being extra careful so as not to damage the earpiece.

Absolute rubbish. Pixel 7 Pro is the best phone I have ever owned. Not had even a single bug. Don't believe this trash article.

I have the Pixel 7 and it's honestly the worst phone I have ever owned, crashes often, gets hot to the point of not being able to hold it, wireless charging is hit or miss, wired charging very slow.

My pixel is on ebay right now, gone back to Samsung to an S22+, never had any issues with Samsung phones.

Assuming this was just click bait. Had my Pixel 7P since launch and it's been flawless.... Best phone I've owned. The only thing I would complain about is it's fast charging speed.
