Sony Electronics' latest stand-alone condenser microphone is a relatively affordable new offering from its Pro Audio division; however, it has inherited design elements from higher-end and "revered" counterparts such as the C-800G. Accordingly, the OEM asserts that the new uni-directional mic will deliver high-end audio specifically optimized for voice recording at a more accessible price.

I'm no expert, but AFAIK cardioid=uni-directional, so unless there's a subtle difference I'm unaware of, this statement is incorrect.
