Title: Qualcomm upgrades to Wi-Fi 7 support with its new "world-first" FastConnect 7800 solution
Post by: Redaktion on February 28, 2022, 23:28:04
Qualcomm has come to the 2022 Mobile World Congress (MWC) to assert that it will be first to market with its commercially-ready FastConnect 7800 subsystem. It is rated to confer Wi-Fi 7 on a given device, delivering max speeds of nearly 6Gbps with bandwidth that might support uses from 4K video streaming to VR gaming - possibly even simultaneously.

4K streaming doesn't need very much bandwidth, considering compression.

The latency reduction and other small improvements in Wi-Fi 7 are probably  a bigger deal.

What are the benefits for the metaverse? LoL 😂
4K streaming doesn't need any upgrades and worked perfectly since Wi-Fi 5. Mediatek's claims of "8K uncompressed" streaming are much better anyway 😂
