General Motors announced the biggest single production investment in its history, a nearly US$7 billion outlay aimed squarely at the production of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra electric trucks. GM plans to surpass Tesla and become America's largest EV manufacturer, and will start by converting the Orion factory in Michigan into an electric truck plant, as well as invest in battery cell production there.
