When it comes to storage solutions for NAS servers, capacity is often more important than performance, which is why Seagate has now unveiled its largest IronWolf Pro and Exos hard drives yet with a massive disk space of 20TB.

In large numbers, these drives are no slouches. I mean, I've got a server that can take 90 3.5" drives. And a big Optane cache. Sure, if you need outright performance or density at any cost, this is not the way to go. But we are talking about numbers where 100 Gb/s Ethernet is not enough and traditional Ethernet itself is slow (you want RDMA to cut down latency and load).
