Refuting YouTube Austin Evans's claims that the new Sony PS5 console has worser thermals, igor'sLab and Hardware Busters have concluded from detailed testing that the new, "smaller" heatsink in the PS5 revision actually helps in lower APU temperatures and allows for higher boosts, though this comes with the side effect of slightly warmer NAND.

Never believe anything you read in reviews unless they are willing to disclose their testing methodology.
The mobile phone market has already been compromised by Dxomark and their fake testing and financial incentives to manufacturers/reviewers. The last thing we need is the same approach to other technology products like PC/Consoles/Laptops.
Brings back memories of Xbox 360 and the red ring of death.
I'll wait till the teardown by tech Jesus before I believe any of these "reports".
All lies Austin doesn't know what he's saying
Honestly all these small differences can probably be explained by variance. Won't actually know if there are any statistically significant differences in temperature or power consumption until a decent sized sample of old vs new is tested. Then determine if their mean differences are a result of deviation or statistically significant (p<0.05). Due to console scarcity only Sony would have done these tests.
