Title: Google announces its answer to App Tracking Transparency on iOS
Post by: Redaktion on June 05, 2021, 16:53:36
Google has reportedly informed developers that it will introduce a new setting in Android that allows users to suspend Advertiser ID sharing across apps. The measure might boost privacy, although some app-makers might argue that it might also increase the risk of certain frauds, as well as revenue loss. Nonetheless, the changes are slated to start taking effect from late 2021.

What an empty gesture. It will take years for Android 12 to reach any meaningful market share for it to make any difference.

Translation of this article:

1 - Google implements feature that supposedly protects privacy
2 - Apple implements similar feature that protects privacy
3 - Google improves previous feature so that it now actually protects privacy, showing the previous implementation did not, and in typical Google fashion was simply misleading people while Google continued to collect their data.
