Title: Samsung will combine continuous zoom, an under-display camera and AMD graphics in the Galaxy S22 Ultra
Post by: Redaktion on May 03, 2021, 16:07:30
The prolific leaker Ice Universe has made new predictions concerning the Galaxy S22 series' Ultra variant. Not only does the tipster believe that it will introduce the mythical Samsung/AMD mobile GPU, it will also debut with a potential breakthrough in optical zoom for smartphones. The putative flagship may also drop the current central punch-hole selfie shooter for one that hides under the display.

Hmmm, I think Sony's zooming telephoto is the better solution, because lens speed would be severely limited with a zoom, even when settling for a reasonably large sensor (with stacking making up for size) like 1/1.8" instead of going even larger to 1", so this lowers the ceiling of the  performance of the device, while with a telephoto it's not gonna have a very large sensor in the first place, and the main will cover for the telephoto when it's unreliable.

Is the S22 Ultra USA Snapdragon model going to have AMD graphics or just the Exynos international models?

Exynos, naturally, no phone could afford the inefficiencies of discrete graphics.
