There has been a supposed leak about the Sony Xperia 1 III and its specs that will surprise and please fans of the brand. Cameras, it`s main Sony problem many years. Mark II? has good, but not the top camera on market. Sony needs Apple programmers, because even Alpha camera devision, can`t wright good software for smartphone camera >:(

Quality smartphone photography is more about software postprocessing and AI these days. It doesn't matter how good your hardware is: look what Pixel phones can do with average hardware.
A standalone Camera 'Pro' app with many manual settings is not good enough. Most users only care about auto settings point-and-shoot, getting it right the first time.
If Sony wants to sell its phones to 'enthusiasts', then it should expect an 'enthusiast' number of sales: few and limited. Professional photographers are not going to pick up an Xperia phone just because of the Sony brand - it doesn't work that way.

I hate to say this, but you do have a point. When I saw the All About Windows Phone website did a camera comparison between the Xperia 1 ii and the Lumia 950 XL, I'm really surprised to see how the Lumia could still produce a better photo quality than the Xperia despite the Lumia being a 2015 smartphone running a dead mobile OS. It shouldn't happen since Sony has its own Alpha camera division. At this point, they should be Google Pixel's direct competitor in terms of camera performance.
