Title: Intel's i5-11400 6-core Rocket Lake-S CPU appears on Geekbench, lags behind similar AMD Ryzen 3000 / 5000 models

The Rocket Lake-S hexa-core is around 10% faster than the Comet Lake-S predecessor, and it almost matches the i7-8700K with considerably higher clocks, but it still lags behind the Ryzen 5 3600X in multi-core loads, while the Ryzen 5 5600X is on a completely different level with 31% higher multi-core results.

If they were smart, which they aren't, they would undercut the 3600x with this. Perfect for someone who wants a low budget pc with a little pep and doesn't want to buy a graphics card.

3600X 250€
5600X 315€
10400F 150€
If the 11400F launches at a similar price it's a killer deal.

Shrugs. Still way cheaper than 6-core Ryzen, and 1~10% better FPS in games is guaranteed (already is, even on last-gen i5).

So Intel's announced 6-core CPU is over 30% slower than AMD's last year CPU? Will it be 30% cheaper then?

Yep. Intel's delivering @ sub-$155 for the 3rd generation in a row, now. OEM towers based on i5-xx00F seem to get them for even cheaper.

Heh. You might not remember, but the FX-8150 ("Bulldozer") ROCKED synthetics. Blender, x264, XML, too - and we ain't talking a measely 30%. Its "weaker competitor"? The Core i7-2600K.
Do review before purchase:
1) Geekbench test suite whitepaper;
2) GTX 1650 performance in laptops w/ hexa-core Ryzen 5 (7nm) vs. quad-core i5 (14/10nm).

Sorry, I wasn't trying to discourage anybody from buying the Ryzen processor.
Just be aware that Intel have gotten VERY competetive in this slice of the market, and AMD seem to be treating themselves to a "premium" price tag* all too frequently.

* "AMD is debuting the Ryzen 5 5600X at a staggering $299, which is the highest launch price ever for a Ryzen 5-series processor"
* "With a retail price of around $160, the Core i5-10400F is priced very competitively"
