Title: NVIDIA teases GeForce RTX 30 mobile GPUs before January 12 GeForce event
Post by: Redaktion on January 11, 2021, 17:46:55
NVIDIA will definitely be unveiling GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs for laptops tomorrow, based on the company's latest teaser. Up to seven Ampere-based GPUs are expected to arrive, from the GeForce RTX 3050 to the GeForce RTX 3080. There will be Max-Q variants of all but the GeForce RTX 3050, too.

It'll be interesting to see where buyers land on the 3080 P version.  8Gb may well be enough and will lower heat and power consumption.  But many may well be pushed by "might as well have it all" thinking and go for 16.

Likely they'll get no choice - OEMs will put whichever version they want to into their devices, so buyers will take what they're offered with a given design.

Is there a chance of a normal 3080 instead of a max P and max Q? i hate those variants
