The ongoing Holiday price drops may be indicating that gaming laptops with next generation GPUs might be just around the corner.

That's a very hard question to answer. It really depends on priorities I guess. This is not a good market to be in right now, people are torn between very soon to be outdated offerings like this one and most likely sorely overpriced new offerings(universally priced at least a tier above the desktop non-mobile parts) in a few months. This is also relatively thick and heavy for Razer negating part of the advantage of buying from this less than cost effective brand. However, if one were previously planning on buying an entry level gaming book with a 1xx0 card, I suppose this would be a solid alternative.
