I don't really get the "Gaming" aspect of this...

Just a normal thunderbolt docking station...

Now with the whole hoopla around the new consoles and their ability to finally keep up with PC's this might be necessary for gaming on the go. 

I have much faster solutions on my desktop that is for sure.

The datasheet supplied by WD (as shown in the article) touts the SSD's capacity for up to "50 games" as well as RGB lighting. So, behold, a "Gamer" docking station.
