OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has quietly exited the company to start a new venture. Pei's departure appears to have happened shortly after the OnePlus Nord was launched.

All this happening just before the launch of 1+ 8T ?! Hmmm..interesting.. to say the least.
It has been a bad year for 1+ with the 8 & 8 Pro not doing good & Nord just sent it even lower, but this departure would have to do with something else..
Carl was clearly an outsider, spent most of his life in Sweden (he actually has a degree from Stockholm School of Business), whereas Lau was well-versed with the Chinese machinery at Oppo, becoming the head of OPLUS too, looks like he's taking the company in a completely different direction than the original vision..
OnePlus has lost its founding vision since 2019..and now its founding visionaries too..
