AMD today tweeted out the official launch dates of their upcoming CPU and GPU platforms. Zen 3 and RDNA 2 will be the bases for AMD's next generation of CPUs and graphics cards, respectively. While the announcements didn't include many details, we now know that Zen 3 will officially launch on October 8 and RDNA 2 (with Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs) will launch on October 28.

I was just looking for when this will be released and everything from the past couple months says Q1 2021. Does this mean we could actually start seeing Cezanne-based laptops this year? I'm waiting for that, hopefully with USB4 and hopefully better screens and keyboards this time.
"Zen 3 and RDNA 2 will be the bases for AMD's next generation of CPUs and graphics cards, respectively." Surely you meant "basis" or do all your bases belong to me?

@vertigo: That's my hope too. AMD needs to push hard in desktop, but they need to push harder in the laptop market. They're making good inroads; hopefully Cezanne will be released soon to keep the push going.
@SirEvilJebus: "Bases" is the plural of "basis." In this case, it's pronounced "BAY-sees." Since this noun is referring to both Zen 3 and RDNA 2, it needs to be plural.

No, AMD's CPU and APU releases are staggered, so if everything goes well, we're looking at Q1 for Cézanne.

Not on chip. Not before Rembrandt, probably in Q1 2022.

CPU release is one thing, release of a larger number of laptops and actual availability in stores is another. Given their past performance, I wouldn't expect laptops (at least in larger numbers) before Q2 and more like Q2/Q3 for the bulk. But who knows, perhaps AMD will surprise us and deliver laptops shortly after launch in Q1. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
