Tipster @KkatCorgi claimed that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ampere graphics card will deliver up to 20 percent higher performance than the outgoing GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. This aligns with rumors that the RTX 3080 will be built on the high-performing GA102 silicon and opens up the path to 4K/60 PC gaming.

It's also apparently 20% more power hungry than the 2080 Ti, asking a whopping 320W, so I'm afraid this generation of laptop cards (especially Max-Q) might not offer much over Turing, if they will even be released at all. And considering Turing itself was not much of an upgrade over Pascal...
When it comes to 4k gaming, VRAM is a big factor. And 2080 Ti is not the king. Titan RTX is. If you're after 4k gaming, that's the card you really want. Of course, next to Titan, the Ti looks like a bargain. :D

...yes, they're gonna have to go even wider, if that's even practical, which also concerns the price...
Hi there,
I recently read this article on the new Nvidia 3080 (Nvidia Amphere Architecture).
Quite interesting and similar, however the specs vary somewhat.
vrone.co.uk/vr-news/nvidia-ampere-gpu
Not very impressive, considering 1080 vs 980Ti
"We've seen a number of demos over the past month, from Cyberpunk 2077 to Watch Dogs Legion handing in a 1080p update with ray-tracing enabled on the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Clearly a higher-tier graphics card is in need to run these games at 4K. "
Clearly the RT will get more optimized and is in an early stage for now.
Actually the rumors are big navi is 40-50% faster than the 2080ti. And 3080 is 20% faster than 2080ti. So going by that big navi could really be the nvidias killer. Guess we'll just have to wait and see
rtx3000 incease 20% performance? AMD NAVI "hold my beer" >:D
