Adjust the slider to the left to increase brightness or to the right to decrease brightness — wait, what?

It's very strange but maybe it was designed by someone who speaks Arabic or any other RTL language?

This is not "annoying counterintuitive feature", go and buy the surface or dell xps and you will see what is !

Not surprising coming from MSI. I mean who puts the CMOS battery on 1 side of the laptop, but you have to disassemble the entire laptop to get to its connectors on the opposite side?

Earth, 2250, archeologists uncover a bunch of laptops from 2019.
After booting different brands and models they scratch their heads when they realize on all of them the left key is to decrease brightness while the right key is to increase brightness.

It is just matter of perspective. If you're right handed, then it doesn't seem make any sense. But if you're left handed, well it might be okay.

Yeah, like putting charging port under Magic Mouse is a very good decision from Apple.

How is this even worthy of an entire article? Slow day over there or what?

Who cares?!

Because when you put down thousands of dollars on a laptop and spend several hours of your day sitting in front of it, it's the small details and annoyances that you start to notice ;)

As an example, some users complained about the small size of the Shift key on the Razer Blade 15. Lo and behold, they are addressing it on the upcoming 2020 refresh.

Size of the Shift key is not a minor issue, it's an often used basic functionality key. Location of brightness key is minor - one uses it a few times a day at most, and it's not a basic functionality key, hence it doesn't really matter where it is - same with other additional functionality keys, such as volume up/down/mute, wifi on/off and so on.

I'm typing this on a Surface Laptop 3 and I have a single keyboard backlight button.  It's F1.  F6 & F7 control the screen brightness.
