A listing imaginatively titled "Google Pixel 4a XL Replacement New Battery Back Cover Door" has appeared on eBay France, sparking rumours about Google releasing a second mid-range Pixel this year. While Google has apparently cancelled the Pixel 4a XL, there has been no official confirmation from Google as such.

The 4a is a very important launch for Google and is likely to be its most popular phone yet. And though the phone may not be 5G capable it paves the way for the Pixel 5 (which will be 5G capable) and may overlap Pixel 5 in the lineup for a full year as an option for those not needing or just not ready for 5G functionality.
Given all that, why would Google forego sales by not offering the 4a in the larger size?
