Title: Xbox Series S console to come with just 4 teraflops of GPU performance but will only cost US$300
Post by: Redaktion on March 07, 2020, 10:26:11
A wealth of information about the supposed Xbox Series S console, also known as Lockhart, has been published by a Chinese website. According to the site's sources, the upcoming next-gen console will be the base model as opposed to the high-end Xbox Series X and its 12 TFLOPS. However, although the rumored cost of US$300 is promising, the 4 TFLOPS of compute performance is seemingly low.

This would make no sense as the Xbox One X is 6 TF add a external SSD and bam better than that.

It makes sense.. the Xbox One x cost too much to produce to sell for 300 and doesn't have a modern bus ( no internal ssd ) meaning it would still load games slower than the new lowly base model ( Xbox series S) ..

This model would be geared to people on low budgets.  At 4 teraflops it would be nearly 4 times as powerful as the current Xbox one S... which can barely play at 1080p..

In 2018 30% of households had 4k tv's.. I'm guessing now it's closer to 50%...

Although I have a 75 inch Samsung 4 in my living room I still have a 80 inch 1080p in my bedroom.

The reviewer needs to realize there is still a market for consoles of this level since half the country is broke and according the social securities official website more than half the country makes less than 20k in income annually
