Title: Galaxy S10e owners get shafted in the Galaxy S20 trade-in program
Post by: Redaktion on February 13, 2020, 09:44:17
Samsung has opened up its Galaxy S20 series trade-in program for reservers and there looks to be a few issues with it. For one, owners of the Galaxy S10e get the short end of the stick.

"...had for $350 on T Mobile..."

Buying a phone on a contract is irrelevant. It's price is 300% subsisized rip off prices on data, and I don't know anyone who would make such a comparrison. $600 to actually own a phone and save 50$ a month on phone plans vs. $350 with 500$ worth of data for $2000. Joke article.

I honestly have no idea what you're on about. You can pay $399 in full for the Pixel 4 on T-Mo right now, not on contract.

PS: Your quote is wrong; $350 is never mentioned in this article. Great comment otherwise, though.

That means now it's the perfect time to buy the S10e or to trade in S10 for S20.

It probably means the S10e was not successful and hence doesn't have much value. Which is a shame for me because it was one of the smallest phones on the market and there are very few of them available in the EU (there might be something among really cheap phones, but I'm not counting those). I'm wondering whether Apple is really going to launch a small phone and whether it survives for more than a single generation. Not sure whether it's the smallness or whether people just can't accept losing features. It looks like going forward, my best hope is that they perfect foldable screens as a slab folded in half like the Z Flip or Razr could be acceptable for me. And that they go down in price. Although I can afford it, I'm pretty strict with my spending (I really hate giving companies the idea that they can charge more).
