Title: Uh oh: Motorola Razr users complaining about hinge noise
Post by: Redaktion on February 03, 2020, 10:52:52
Motorola's flashy and pricey Razr reboot doesn't appear to be off to a convincing start. Max Weinbach from XDA Developers posted a video of a in-store Razr demo unit creaking loudly every time the device is folded or unfolded. This was then followed with similar videos posted by other early adopters of the device who have received shipping units.

Wow... a bending plastic part that isn't 100% silent! Who would have thought!

These people are worse than 12 year old spoiled brats.

If it costs 1500 dollars plastic or not the displays were ripping like paper and it was making a noise that sounded like it could break at any moment it also felt like it too. The revamped Galaxy gold did not feel as flimsy.

One thing I notice with a number of those people complaining, is that in their video where they demonstrate the issue, they're all pressing on the screen while folding it shut. The screen is designed to shift when it's folding/unfolding, so the user is interrupting that movement by pressing the screen down with their thumb or their finger. When you're folding or unfolding the phone, try handling it by the edges or the back.

The bending screen craze is a prime example of people being addicted to the next "new" thing.
It's pretty useless as it is. Just get a bigger form factor when you need something bigger.
If it's too early for release, then customers can wait!

rightly so....but also expect some level of misuse by the initial reviewers.

a user should hold the phone by the sides when folding closed or opening the devices. you should not "press down" on the screen when opening or closing.
