How idiotic. Australia has experienced no climate deviation to precipitate the brush fires. Rampant arson and recent prohibitions on controlled burns (for reasons you can look up) are the most likely causes. Are you a tech writer or a talking head with a communications degree repeating the nonsense his boss told him to propagate?

The New South Wales government and a number of leading researchers it quotes believe in a causal link between climate change and an increased risk of bushfires. It is an area of extensive, ongoing research. I'm sorry if that's not in consonance with your ideas about climate change and extreme weather events.
