Many may have casually wondered how the speed of the Android 10 rollout compares to those of older versions of the OS. It almost feels like OEMs are sending out the OS update faster this time around. Does hard data agree with that notion? Yes, yes, it does.

Author here. Didn't mention those because none of them have sent out the Android 10 update, so there's no data for comparison.
LG has rolled out the Android 10 beta in Korea, though. Hopefully it gets to the US soon.
The problem is that they only support flagships and only for 2 years.
At the end of the day an iPhone XR/11 is not much more expensive than most Android flagships and they get 4 years of updates on day one.

LG has rolled out the Android 10 beta in Korea, though. Hopefully it gets to the US soon.
LG has the bad habit of rolling out updates quickly in just certain regions. Back in the Lollipop era, it rolled out 5.0 for the G3 the week after Google released it... in Poland only, then didn't release the update for other regions til 6 or so months later. Some devices (like the tabs) only got updates in certain regions and the others just didn't get them at all.
Point is, while looking at other regions' updates is usually a good indicator, it does not work for LG.

Oh, yeah. I know that. I don't expect the US G8 to get Android 10 until Q3 2020.

Motorola abandoned their Android One devices but retained the moniker - that company has gone to put under Lenovo
