It's always been MP denoting the core number for Mali, don't know what MP stands for though.
Actually it would be a pleasant surprise if this could really match the Adreno in SD730.

I'm saying the GPU is clearly tagged as Mali g76 mc4 on Xiaomi official website (it has a more complex name but I can't seem to remember). So maybe just maybe,this is more powerful line up than the mp series. Xiaomi is also proposing that the GPU in the mtk g90t is more powerful than that in sd 730. Infact the GPU of the phone is on of its selling point.. perhaps this review needs a review.

I strongly suspect a typo on Xiaomi's side, there has been no "MC" in the history of Mali...
From the numbers it's generally on par with Adreno 618, it could exceed the Adreno in some tests but falls behind in others, in largely equal proportions.

It isn't be a typo. The same name is on a news letter pdf from mtk official site too. I don't think the idea of it being a new architecture of some sort or something like that is far fetched
