The latest BIOS update for the Dell XPS 15 9575 convertible should take care of the fans issue, revealed Frank Azor on Twitter yesterday. In the last month, more users complained that the fans of the new XPS 2-in-1 are extremely loud even under light load, some of them even stumbling into this problem on more than just one XPS 15 9575.

Can confirm the BIOS update 1.1.1 fixes the fan noise.
When are you guys going to review the 9570? What about the G7? Thanks!

Both will be reviewed as soon as possible. The 9570 is on its way, and the G7 will follow soon after it. Expect the 9570 review to go live next month, if everything goes as planned.
I have tested the new firmware 1.1.1 but have still the problem when adapter is connected high fan noise . On battery no problem. Hope they solve it soon.
For me this update did not fix the loud fans. Maybe it has gotten better for some extreme cases, but loud fans under low load remain an issue.
At other times (sitting in the sun without charger) the fans won't even start and the system slows down. Mainboard & fans have been replaced. Now getting a new device; to see if it makes a difference.
