How did the Razer 14 not make the list?
Might be better o include prices too.
I think this is a very useful website.
The HP Omen has been out for a couple of weeks and should be well up that list too!
p34w-v3 with 1.73kg beat all
GIGABYTE P34W V3 faster, lighter, cheaper, better looking, better screen and better ergonomic design than 90% of these and doesn't get a mention when most other reviews say it is the benchmark for powerful notesbooks (not 5.5kg monsters).
In fact its the fastest 14" notebook on the market... bloody hell you have the gall to even put the razer 13 in there... your benchmarking is crap.. just look at real user feedback on sites like whirlpool and notebokforum if you really want user opinion, not this sites incredulous reviews..
Looking forward to a review of the Alienware 13 with i7-5500U and GTX 960
So where is the razer blade? It has a better rating that any of these, but was left out.
just want to ask, did any upcoming review form notebookcheck for new ASUS G501VW skylake ?
The first item on your list, the Acer V15 Nitro Black has a link to Amazon for a price under $600. This is not the laptop you list, but an inferior model in processor, ram, video card and graphics memory.
Please update the link to accurately reflect the updated notebook. One that meets your specs comes closer to the prices of the other notebooks reviewed.
How come MSI GS60 not on the list? I think it is one of the light weight gaming laptop.
MSI GS43VR is lighter and with 84% rating but is not on the list?
Still waiting on the reviews of the MSI GE72VR as well as the ASUS GL702VM as per the upcoming reviews section.
Hello here,
Just a quick update regarding this article :
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Notebookcheck-s-Top-10-Lightweight-Gaming-Notebooks.126456.0.html
and the series MSI GT62 and GT72 integrating a GTX1070...lot of troubles on those ones as described on the US, German and French forum...multiples crashes, issues with speakers and so on...so far MSI doesn't seem to account all this troubles...and they last since already 3 months.
Sincerely
This is a great summary for road warriors and college students. Thanks
Any chance we could add battery times and GPU upgrade options (such as Thunderbolt 3 for eGPUs or MXM)?
Regarding Razor coming in 2nd...
perhaps you better read your own articles

pretty damning about Razor design/build quality
Aorus X5 V6 is the best lightweight gaming machine I've ever used/owned. With 3 m.2 slots plus the SATA connector and 4 RAM slots it's also the most expandable. The 6820 and 1070 work in perfect harmony, screen is wonderful, and battery life is quite amazing-- truly unsure why it isn't on top of this list.
Hi
Great review thank you, what do you think of the Acer Nitro V series 15 inch screen, does it qualify to be in the list ?
I'm eager to see how the Surface Book 2 15 compares to these.
I know that it's technically more of a Multimedia laptop - but the thing has a damn GTX 1060 in it.
Really looking forward to the review. Other than the high price it seems to tick all the boxes from battery life, typing experience, build quality and versatility to raw power and performance.
I agree with you with the Surface Book 2 it's powerful, light and all however the problem is the Cooling so when you play heavy games I doubt that it will throttle when running heavy games around 30 mins or so. that's the problem with slim chassis
Congrats 🎉🎊#GIGABYTE #Aero15X, Top 1 Best Slim & Light Gaming Laptop on Notebook check.
Where is Alienware m15?
The Alienware m15 scored an 87% in your review, similar to the Acer Triton 500 at the number 3 spot. Why isn't it in the list?
Hello notebookcheck,
Thank you for updating the list.
I wonder if you have a similar list - or perhaps are thinking of creating one - for the new category of systems that can run games with decent speed but are sub 1.5kg and 13-inch size, such as the upcoming blade stealth with 1650 max-q, or the new prestige 14 with 1650 max-q?
Thank you
How does the MSI GS75 17" laptop make the list, and the Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR does not? The Gigabyte was more highly rated and has some compelling features compared to the MSI.

The Aero 17 is a little bit too thick for the TOP 10.
When can we expect an update? Anytime soon? Anything new worth checking out in the meantime?
I'm drawn towards the Aero 15 XA for some not too heavy machine learning stuff and general grad school work, but trying to get a good deal here and not miss out on some potentially upcoming thing. *On a budget* Also, I can't find the 240 Hz Aero only the 144Hz for the XA model, any comment? Thanks!
What happened to the Fusion 15 with is thin and light and rates an 84% in your tests?
Why are you advertising again and again the cr@p from Razer? One wouldn't regret for anything else more then buying laptop for $3k which would last a year or so. If someone doubts - go to their reddit and read comments/ask for opinion yourself feom current owners of those laptops.
I'm sorry but why are you including the comments from multiple years ago?
Why not have a NEW comment section for each NEW release of the list?

Why not have a NEW comment section for each NEW release of the list?
Because its just the same article that has been updated many many times. There is no one list for a year as it is updated many times. Many websites do this, it is easier to update the old article with the new recommendations than have to go through the process of creating a new article

Asus TUF A14 not included here?

I've also found another missing laptop: ASUS Zephyrus G16 with AMD Zen 5 HX 370 and RTX 4060.
Review has come out since late August.

As someone actively looking for laptops like this (I currently have an Asus Flow X16 - 2023), I find it very suspicious that the number one ranked option has a 60hz screen. How can that possibly be the best for any gaming laptop list?
OK, so where is the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025) with 86.8 % score that should be 2nd on this list?
You had Flow Z13 on this list previously. It is light at 1.23/1.62 kg (without/with keyboard) and thin at 14/20 mm. It scores higher than any but one on this list. It's recent.
