Hey Notebookcheck, just a tip:
Current Euro-USD convertion makes 500€ -> $545, so positions 1 and 5 should be out of this list.
Though this list is having really good laptops in 2016, but when it comes to price range like less than $500, I found this list will be useful to select the best laptop.

I think you should remove 10 inch devices from this list. Their screen size is too small to be considered as notebooks.
Nice article, I found latest laptops on http://bestreviewz.org/best-laptops-in-2016/,
I bought an Ideapad 5 14 ARE05 from the Lenovo site for my daughter when you could manage to get it customised, Ryzen 4300U, 8GB RAM 256gb SSD, 2.4mm IPS screen, 57whr battery with student discount and £20 off weekend deal all came to £427 inc vat (20%) (467 euros) which was a good buy.
I have an Acer Swift with an Intel Ultra 7 155H, that is about 1.5 years old at this point. Bought it for $<600 over a year ago, and it still beats your #1 pick by about 10-15% in most benches. Even included an OS (which I wiped, of course, Windows 11 is atrocious.)
Is progress dead in the basic laptop world?
